Children's Vision
More than 80% of the information we process is visual. Research has shown that up to 1 in 6 children have a visual problem that if left undiagnosed will potentially impact on their learning, confidence and sports. While vision screening occurs at pre-school, new entrant and intermediate schools in New Zealand, only 20-30% of children with visual problems are detected. This means almost 70% continue to struggle through primary school and then secondary school.
Vision is not just about how each eye focuses and sees, but how the eyes work together, focus together, and how the images seen are processed.
